‘Triangle of Sadness’ and ‘Black Lightning’ Actress Charlbi Dean Dies at 32

The South African actress who turned heads this year as a fashion model influencer in the Palme d’Or-winning Triangle of Sadness, has died.

Charlbi Dean died Monday at a hospital in New York City due to an unexpected sudden illness, her rep confirmed. The main cause and illness has not been disclosed yet.

Dean began her career as a model at the age of 14 after dropping out of high school.

Dean debuted her careeer as an actress in the 2010 South African film 'Spud' and then later returned for the 2013 sequel.

Some of her other films included Blood in the Water (2016), Don’t Sleep (2017), An Interview With God (2018) and Porthole (2018).

Dean was quite active on her social media and shared her final post several days ago. She posted a series of professional modeling pictures on Instagram. Tributes continues to pour from fans in the comment section, missing their beautiful actress and role model.
